Turquoise means 'Turkish stone', this is because it was first brought to Europe via the Turkish trade route. It is known for many properties including energy, grounding, calmness and emotional balance. The stone can be found in the United States, Mexico, China, Tibet, Chile and Iran.
Pressed stones are made from the original stone, crushed, mixed with resin and 'Pressed' into a mold.
This does not necessarily detract from the value as it gives the stones a more uniform colour.
