The name Labradorite comes from the Labrador region of Canada which is where the gemstone was first discovered in 1770. Since then, this gemstone can be found in many parts of the world including Finland, Australia, Norway, Italy and Ukraine. This gemstone can produce a variety of different colours depending on which angle you look at, its usual intense colours including the typical blues, greens, yellows and whites, at some rare times, all of these colours can be seen at once making the stone look spectacular.

Labradorite is a very soft stone, reaching only 6-6.5 on the Moh's Hardness Scale, this means that it can be scratched easily but will not crackor break. Due to its softness, we recommend setting the stone in a protective setting in order for it to not get damaged with the usual wear and tear. This gemstone is best for wearing it as a necklace pendant or an earring.
