Hematite is commonly known as bloodstone and derives from the fact that, when cut, the coolant becomes red. the gemstone is a composition of iron and oxygen hence why the red color may occur as it is the oxygen reacting to iron. commonly found in areas in or around springs, standing water and also volcanic activity. This stone can be magnetised when heated to levels of up to 1000C. This stone has the ability to block many forms of radiation (emf).
