The name 'Aquamarine' was inspired by its sea-like colours, however, it was not always called this name. This stone used to be known as 'Sea Green Beryl' but was changed in the early 1600's. It is rated 7-8 on the Moh's Hardness Scale but we recommend care to be taken as it is very easy to scratch and chip.
This stone can be found all over the world; Brazil, Madagascar, USA, Pakistan, Zambia etc. Colorado, USA, produces some of the finest specimens of Aquamarine ever recorded. It is known to have powerful properties, such as increasing youth, foresight, intelligence and happiness as well as treating illnesses. It is said that wearing this stone, will bring you lots of good opportunities.
